Host Maven uses only the best of the best in order to maintain high uptime and ensure fast loading speeds. Our primary datacenter is located in the heart of Chicago, Illinois.
Our Datacenter
Located in a private facility in the heart of downtown Chicago, our datacenter allows us maximum flexibility and security. Below are a few reasons why your data will be safe on a Host Maven server.
Power
Perhaps the most important part of keeping a server online is providing adequate electricity to it. Therefore, we choose a datacenter that draws power from two power grids, which are both capable of backing each other up if a failure were to occur. In addition to this, our datacenter is fully backed up by uninteruptable power supply units and diesel generators, allowing the facility to run without power for an extended period of time.
Security
The building in which our datacenter provider is located in has its own security team, comprised of a network of CCTV cameras, patroling guards, and a main security checkpoint at the lobby. The building's perimeter and sensitive areas are monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. With these precautions in place and more, you can rest assured that your data will be safe at Host Maven.
Fire Supression
In an area with so many fragile electrical components that all run extremely hot, fire supression is key. Our datacenter provider utilizes a FM-200 waterless fire supression system. FM-200 is non-conductive and non-corrosive, so it won't damage equipment compared to the traditional water system, and it extinguishes fire faster than its other commercial competitors.
Our Network
Our network provider was chosen based on the diversity of upstream providers, reliablitiy of core equipment, and low latency to several test sites. Upstream providers are Level(3) Communications, Global Crossing, RCN, and in mid-May 2008, NTT will be added. These providers allow quick speeds to other areas in the United States, as well as low latency to Europe and Asia. The network is powered by Juniper M-series routers at the core, with Cisco routers and switches connected to individual client servers. Everything is fully meshed to ensure maximum throughput and lowest latency. The network is also professioally maintained, to ensure maximum uptime and integrity.
